try, Mr. Haden was vice president and general manager of the King- port (Tennessee) Times-News, an attorney, and civic leader. Mr. Haden will succeed Dr. D. Regi­ nald Thomas, who is resigning after five years on the weekly NBC net­ work broadcast, because of increas­ ing ministerial duties at New York City’s Brick Presbyterian Church, where he became pastor in 1966. The announcement was made by Dr. C. Everett Koop, president of the Evangelical Foundation of Philadel­ phia, which produces the Bible Study Hour. Dr. Ralph L. Keiper of Philadelphia has accepted the invitation of the board of Trustees of the Conserva­ tive Baptist Theological Seminary in Denver, Colorado to be professor in pastoral theology and evangelism, according to P residen t Vernon C. Grounds. Dr. Keiper will continue his ministry with the Evangelical Foun­ dation of Philadelphia until he en­ ters his new field of endeavor in September of this year. The National Negro Evangelical As­ sociation h a s announced various plans for outreach in the coming months. Their activities include ban­ quets -in several large cities through­ out the United States, fellowship meetings, evangelistic crusades, and Christian Education con fe ren ce s. Operation S was a project through which the group endeavored recently to penetrate the Watts community with the Gospel of Christ. The or­ ganization is designed to develop community projects on the national and local level such as counseling centers and facilities for fellowship meetings in order that ultimately the Gospel will go forth in the needy areas of our land.
