cell does something that every other cell does. No matter what its work is, every cell takes in oxygen in order to live. In the body of Christ, every person, no matter what his special work is, is to speak of the Lord Jesus Christ, for He has said, “Ye shall be witnesses unto me . . . unto the utter most part of the earth.” Everybody can do that. Telling this glad story is every Christian’s work. Our memory verse tells what w ill happen then: “Whosoever shall call on the name V of the Lord shall be saved.” Are you doing your part? OBJECTS: Four nursery blocks, which spell the word “G-O-O-D.” § LESSON: A little girl was once play ing with four building blocks like these’. She had just learned to spell and was seeing how many words she could make with the four blocks. “Mother,” she said, “ I can spell ‘GO’ and ‘DO’.” “That’s good, Mary. See whether ot not you can find other words.” “Oh, Mother, I can spell ‘GOOD,5 too.” “ I am glad you found that word,” said Mother. “That was the word I hoped you would find. Mary, these four little blocks can t e a c h us a wonderful lesson, if we are willing to learn. It is ‘GOOD’ to ‘GO’ and ‘DO’ the things God wants us to do. This is a lesson in obedience. If we go where God wants us to go, and do the things He wants us to do, we will some day hear Him say, ‘WELL DONE, THOU' GOOD A N D F A I T H F U L SERVANT.’ ” *.•©•■** , ir. a« Object Lesson I t ' s G ood t o G o
so sweet! ‘God bless you,’ gasped the poor fellow. ‘Are you there?’ “ ‘Yes,’ said the chaplain. ‘And I am not going to stir from here until you come out.’' ‘‘The poor man could not thank him enough. ‘Why, I don’t mind it a bit now, with you there like that.’ “The terror was gone while his friend was so near, unseen, yet just above. And so beside us all is the unseen yet loving presence of our Friend, and darkness and danger have no longer any power to frighten us." —Selected. The Glad Story We Share A cts 1:8; 6:1-4; 11:27-30; 13:1-3 MEMORY VERSE: “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). APPROACH: E v e r y part of your body has its own work to' do. The eye cannot do the work of the foot, nor eyes are seeing a sunset” ; you say, “I see it,” because all of you is really working together to help you to enjoy that beautiful picture. ‘ LESSON STORY: There is another “ body” that we should learn about. We cannot see it in the same way that we see our own bodies, but it is very real. The members of this body are the people who love and trust the Lord Jesus. Because He di- rects what they are to do, He is called the Head, and all who belong to Him are called members of His body. Just as in our bodies the members have their own work to do, so in "the body of Christ e v e r y member has something that he can do specially well. Some can preach and teach the Word of God and lead in prayer; these people should do these things, because that is their part in the body. Some can help provide food and, cloth ing for those who are needy. Some can give their money for the Lord’s work. Some can go as missionaries to far-off p l a c e s to tell of the Lord Jesus’ love for all sinners. Each one should do his work well, and yet no one can'be proud about his own little part, because it would not be im portant at all without the other parts working together. And after all, it is the Lord's body, and He is to use every part of it. In our human bodies, every tiny 5 'D I V I S I O N can the arm do the work of the brain. A n d yet, you do not say, “Legs took me to school to day” ; you say, “ I went to s c h o o 1.” W h e n your eyes look into the sky in the evening, y o u do not say, “My
Much is said in "the Bible about going and doing the will of God. The Lord Jesus was talking to His disciples one day and said, “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20 : 21 ). The happy and successful Christians of all ages have desired to go and do the" will of God. In Acts 13:2, 3 we read, “As they ministered to the Lord, ¡and f a s t e d , the Holy Ghost said Separate me Barnabas and S^pl foi the work whereunto I h a v e called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.”
