A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7

It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers at the Year 7 information morning and tour last week. Our students were very excited to act as tour guides, and I hope that you all enjoyed seeing the school in action. The presentation slides from the event will be made available to everyone, and further information about selecting an extra enrichment lesson will be sent out soon. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out. This week, we held a Hustings assembly where our Year 7 students had the opportunity to listen to inspiring pitches from our Head Girl candidates. It was an excellent experience for them to participate in the democratic process, and they eagerly cast their votes for their chosen candidate. Congratulations to Zoe RW (7EDA) for winning the ‘Design a Dressing Gown’ competition organised by Hampton Hill Theatre. Additionally, Lina S (7EDA) was honoured as a ‘Special Prize Winner’ in the same competition. Well done to both of you for your creativity and hard work!

In sports news, Lucy G (7FFR) has achieved footballing success with her team, Woking FC. They won the Under 13s Venray Girls Cup in Holland, showcasing their talent and teamwork. Congratulations, Lucy!

This week’s house point leaders are 7STR, 7PIR, and 7FFR. Keep up the fantastic work!

Please mark your calendars for an upcoming event. There will be a pre-loved uniform sale on Saturday, 22 June, which is a great opportunity to purchase uniform at a reduced cost.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens Murder Most Unladylike is about two girls - Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong - who attend Deepdean School for girls and create their own detective agency. They haven’t had any real crimes to solve, but suddenly Hazel finds their teacher, Miss Bell, dead. However when they return the body has disappeared. It’s up to them to solve this case and prove that it actually happened. If you have read books like A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder or Murder Mysteries, then you will enjoy reading this because it is thrilling and also slightly gory. Personally, I really like this book because it is very gripping and gets your brain thinking about who the murderer is. ~ Recommended by Ameera F-H, 7PUN
