Beautiful Beginning Chess Instructor: Progress with Chess Beautiful Beginning is a great way to nurture your child’s interest in the game of chess. We offer a supportive small group setting. Students will learn the moves of the pieces, the rules and be able to play a legal game of chess. Instruction provided by Progress with Chess, a local non-profit organization which has introduced chess to thousands of local students.
After School Chess Instructor: Progress with Chess Instruction will be provided by Progress with Chess, a local non- profit organization that conducts chess programs in over 50 Cleveland area schools and recreation centers. Fantastic Foundation Chess Instructor: Progress with Chess
Fantastic Foundation includes students who already know the basic rules but have little or no tournament experience. Students will learn tactics, strategies and checkmate patterns, how to record moves and use a chess clock. Classmates will play training games under tournament conditions and receive the necessary skills to enter competitive play with confidence.

Sensei Raphael Lancry has trained in a variety of martial art disciplines spanning over a 30 year period specializing in Karate. Sensei Lancry’s curriculum will include basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of training in the Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karatedo system and self-defense. Training includes Kata (forms), self-defense techniques, striking, blocking, and falling applications. Karate training has been proven to develop discipline, respect, honor, physical fitness, and positive thinking. This training also focuses on leadership and communication skill development, balance, personal growth, hand-eye coordination, and etiquette. Special karate apparel (Gi) is required and can be purchased at the start of class. Championship Challenge Chess Instructor: Progress with Chess Designed for students that have tournament experience or have received prior chess instruction and are eager to enter competition. Sessions will include one hour of interactive lessons and one tournament game. Explore advanced tactics, strategies, checkmate patterns, endgames and openings in a supportive small group setting. Participants will learn from analyzing their games and those of famous masters. Two four-game
