69 GENERAL MAINTENANCE

PERIODIC DOT INSPECTION FMCSA Certification: When new this vehicle passed an inspection in accordance with 49 CFR, part 396 and shall be re-inspected during or before the same calendar month on year after the date marked on the content of the inspection report must be retained by the motor carrier.

Recommended compressor governor cut-in pressure must be 105 psi for trailers and chassis manufactured after October 8, 1992 to release parking brakes properly.

ELECTRICAL

follow sound electrical wiring and testing procedures when inspecting, testing, or maintaining the wiring harness, lights, and accessories.

Keep all wiring properly maintained.

1. Lubricate connections with dielectric grease. 2. Lubricate 7-way and other plug connections with dielectric grease. 3. Do not probe wires through the insulation, test at wire ends. 4. Keep all connections within a protective junction box. 5. ABS sensor wires must be inspected and maintained for proper operation. must be taken when maintaining these connections. 7. Work lights and misc electrical accessories need to be maintained and the wiring protected. cabinets that may contain electrical components and wiring. 9. Protect all wiring harnesses and wiring in conduit when using a drill, saw, heat, or performing weld repairs.
