71 PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

AIR SYSTEM Every 5,000 miles • Check air system for malfunctions.

Every 20,000 to 25,000 miles • Check valves for dirt, oil, and other contaminants.

MISCELLANEOUS

Decals can be obscured by the installation of components. If this is the case, request a replacement decal from the original manufacturer or supplier of that decal.

NOTICE

Every 5,000 miles • Lubricate the kingpin and upper coupler and inspect for excessive wear or damage. • Check tires for correct pressure and excessive or uneven wear. • plate. • Check running gear for structural damage. • Check electrical connections for proper grounding. Check for loose connections and excessive corrosion. Some corroded material is normal.

Every 100,000 miles • Check for signs of fatigue cracking in all structural members.

Know the maintenance intervals required by component manufacturers, your company, and any applicable regulatory agency affecting your equipment.

Do not use any form of deicer in the air system. This can attack the seals and cause failure. Use air dryers only.
