A CURATED SELECTION OF GREAT CARDS
62. 1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle (HOF RC) - SGC FR 1.5
Spectacular signed rookie card of the “Duke of Flatbush,” Hall of Fame centerfielder Duke Snider. Conservatively graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA, the card is sharp and clean, with a bit of surface wear at the upper left corner, and a slight top to bottom centering issue. Corner wear is light but visible. Snider’s signature is carefully applied in dark ballpoint across his breast, above the text field, graded a perfect GEM MINT 10. One of the keys in a beautiful collection of signed 1949 Bowman cards we are offering in our Spring auction. 60. Signed 1949 Bowman #226 Duke Snider (HOF RC) - PSA/DNA GEM MINT 10
The “rookie card” of the Yankee Hall of Famer, this is a lovely collector- grade example that has retained much of its original color and clarity. Accurately graded FAIR 20 by true
SGC, the primary condition flaw appears as small areas of surface discoloration at the top left and bottom right corner, likely from some sort of adhesive used to store the card in a scrapbook. The card does exhibit corner and surface wear consistent with the grade, as well as some ink notations at the upper left corner of the reverse that would leave the card at the FR level regardless of the aforementioned corner discolorations. A card with significant collector demand in all grades, the true Mantle rookie is highly sought after among collectors of all types. Many hobbyists give Mantle credit for the popularity of the hobby with the Baby Boom generation actively seeking out nostalgic reminders of their childhoods. It would be hard to argue. Mantle cards continue to increase in value with his earliest cards continuing to fetch thousands of dollars even in lower grades. Like his popular 1952 version, the 1951 Bowman Mantle is part of the tougher-to-find second series. The card image is even today one of the most attractive Mantle images on a baseball card. A fantastic collector-grade example of one of the postwar hobby’s most iconic cards.

61. 1950 Bowman #22 Jackie Robinson (HOF) - PSA VG-EX 4
Important midgrade example of Jackie Robinson’s 1950 Bowman card, among his most desirable and one of his earliest. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA the card exhibits corners consistent with the grade, reasonable centering (slightly off from top to bottom) and mild surface wear. An exceptional card one that had for some time been ungraded until our submission to PSA in the summer of 2019, the card has made its way back to us for our Spring, 2024 auction - it’s nice to see it again. MINIMUM BID: $1,500

Exceptionally clean 1952 Topps Willie Mays, one of the most coveted cards of the “Say Hey Kid”. The image quality is exceptional, dark and bold, with very little visible surface wear. Corners and edges are consistent with the grade, the image reasonably well-centered though slightly to the right. Strong for the grade, the unblemished surface and rich colors contributing to its significant eye appeal. 63. 1952 Topps #261 Willie Mays (HOF) - PSA VG 3 MINIMUM BID: $1,500
