Jood Elbeshti is an 18-year-old student at VCUarts – Qatar majoring in interior architecture. She aspires to establish herself as an architect and as a graphic designer in the future. “This illustration was inspired by a photo of a nurse in New York who stood against protestors who wanted to end the lockdown. The buildings and musical notes in the background are inspired by the Italians who played music on their balconies to spread hope during quarantine. I created it in my preferred medium of comic graphics. It is a nod to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.”
