Simran Lazrado is a 17-year-old creative from Canada. She is passionate about art and writing and is a self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades. “With the world in a seemingly eternal state of panic، it can be hard to put ourselves in the shoes of others who are going through worse in the same situation. We are so privileged to have the opportunity to document our experiences safely at home. My art piece is in honor of those who are in dire situations at this moment. On top of all the suffering we are facing because of COVID-19، many are starving، homeless، jobless and unprotected. For them، their suffering is compounded by the pandemic – and the vaccine that will rid the world of COVID-19، will not rid them of their daily struggles.”
