Crest Ink - Volume 29 - Number 01

Charity Gingerbread Competition We’ve started a new tradition for the holidays – a charity gingerbread house competition. 16 customers were invited to participate and mailed a gingerbread kit donated by Wilton, along with a simple set of rules: 1) The kit provided must be used for the home’s structure 2) Any additional embellishments used must be edible. Customers weren’t the only ones in on the fun though! Crest Foods department managers were also invited to com- pete in a separate contest using the same rules, and 7 different departments signed on for the challenge. House photos from both groups were submitted on November 30 and then sent to Wilton for judging. After a few days of deliberation, the final decisions were made. Each of the top three winners was given the opportunity to select a charity for Crest to donate to for the holidays. Check out our champions below, along with the charities ben- efiting this holiday season. Don’t forget to look at all of the Crest employee houses online at www.CrestFoods.com/ news-room/gingerbread-contest/ To thank Wilton for their partnership in the contest, Crest also made a $250 donation to the Wilton Community Fund (http://www.wilton.com/cms-wilton-community-fund.html), an associate led and funded charitable organiza- tion that is dedicated to delivering financial and volunteer assistance to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that impact the communities where Wilton associates live and work. The fund provides grants to qualified charitable organizations that focus their efforts on providing basic needs and creative enrichment for families.
