Was the Incarnation, that is, the virgin birth of Christ, necessary if He was to become our Saviour? (cp. Phil. 2:5-11; 2 Cor. 5:- 21; Heb. 2:9, 14, 18; 1 John 3:5; 4:2, 3.) 2. What other great central truth about Christ is taught in 2 Tim. 2:8? W hy was it necessary that Christ arise from the dead? (cp. 1 Cor. 15:1-19.) 3. What may befall the man who sin cerely and'wholeheartedly follows Christ? (v. 9.) • 4. What blessed truth do we learn about the Word of God in v. 9? 5. What was the crowning ambition of Paul? (v. 10.) Was this also the purpose of Jesus’ life? (cp. Luke 19:10.) 6. The New Testament teaches us that we are identified with Christ in His min istry on earth-—Ills death, His burial, and His resurrection, (cp. Rom. 6:1-5.)
