DITCH THE STUFF, MAKE MEMORIES
REID'S JOKE CORNER
Hey friends, it’s that time of year again – the holidays are just around the corner! As we start thinking about gifts, I encourage you to try something different this year. Instead of the usual stuff, why not give the gift of experience? You’re probably used to the whole present- wrapping, ribbon-tying routine, but hear me out. Experiences can create way more lasting memories than any material gift ever could. How many gifts do you have collecting dust on a shelf or contributing to the disorganization in your closet? You may or may not have been excited to receive them at the time, but how long did the feeling last? Material things can clutter our homes, but experiences become a part of who we are. A cooking class can teach you a new skill, a spa day can help you relax and recharge, and a quick long-weekend family trip can
create an awesome shared memory full of stories told for years to come.

And the great thing is you can tailor the experience to the person. My brother-in- law started a tradition when Reid was young, where he gifted event tickets to Reid every year. They have amazing memories of seeing Curious George, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, and, more recently, basketball, baseball, and hockey games. Those memories and their bond will last a lifetime. It’s so much more personal than just grabbing something off the shelf. (If you think a non-material gift won’t be as exciting to open, check out Reid getting his Peppa Pig tickets to your right...) Let’s ditch the stuff this holiday season and focus on making memories instead. Your loved ones will thank you, I promise. So, get creative and adventurous and get ready to unwrap some experiences!
frankincense, Mary and Joseph started to thank them, but the third one spoke up, saying: “But wait, there’s myrrh!” Don’t tell anyone, but we got mom a new refrigerator for Christmas. I can’t wait to see her face light up when she opens it.
