School Committee MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
TORI CAMPBELL, SCHOOL COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON 2025–2026 LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING AHEAD
This year, our community came together to confront some of the greatest challenges our schools have faced in recent memory. Extensive engagement, careful analysis, and many difficult conversations enabled the School Committee to make informed decisions to protect what matters most: our students and the quality of their education, now and in the future. The adoption of the AB Forward strategic plan advances our Vision of a Graduate while making the structural changes necessary to sustain our district. This work has not been without cost. Families and staff are navigating uncertainty and change, and our educators have carried a tremendous burden while continuing to serve students with dedication and care. At this point, our community has pushed local solutions close to their limits. Continued advocacy for strong public schools and sustainable funding will be essential. As we implement AB Forward, prepare for Superintendent Peter Light’s final year of leadership, and begin the search for our next superintendent, we do so with confidence in our community’s demonstrated deep commitment to public education and willingness to come together in service of our students. The work ahead will require continued partnership, resilience, and advocacy to build an even stronger future for every student.
