AB Forward OUR STRATEGIC PLAN, 2026–2031
These commitments are grounded in our Vision of a Graduate , a K-12 continuum of skills we want to cultivate in every ABRSD student. These were developed with students, educators, families, and community members and include: Adaptability, Communication, Collaboration, Intellectual Curiosity, and Integrity . This vision anchors the instructional and programmatic decisions across the plan. FOUR PRIORITY AREAS Welcoming & Inclusive School Communities: Intentional, inclusive school communities that welcome students, families, and educators from all backgrounds and create a sense of belonging for each member of the school community. Student Academic Outcomes & Social-Emotional Wellbeing: High-quality instruction and districtwide systems of support driven by our Vision of a Graduate and designed to maximize learning for each student, responding to their unique learning and development needs. During the 2025–26 school year, we engaged in a deliberate, community-driven process to shape AB Forward, our five-year strategic plan . Families, educators, staff, students, and community members contributed input through surveys, focus groups, and public forums, helping to define the priorities that will guide our district’s work through 2031. That engagement continues to inform how we translate the plan into action. MISSION: Our mission is to provide high-quality, inclusive educational opportunities that inspire a community of learners.

WHAT’S NEXT This fall and winter, district and building leaders will build on this foundation by developing metrics to track our progress in each priority area over time, along with a set of potential initiatives to advance the work. This phase will translate AB Forward’s priorities into concrete, measurable action, ensuring the plan remains a living document that guides decision-making and resource allocation across the district in the years ahead.
