TOPPS 75 TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AUCTION
496. 1969 Topps Super #28 Reggie Jackson (HOF) - Rare Square-Cornered Proof not because of size but because of the premium nature of the cards, with a high-gloss finish and colorful photography featured on these 2 1/4” x 3 1/4” cards, this 1969 issue. The cards are wonderful, and remain highly desirable, particularly in higher grades. The cards were offered Dubbed “Super”
497. 1969 Topps Super #37 Fergie Jenkins (HOF) - PSA NM-MT 8 MINIMUM BID: $50

with rounded corners, something new for Topps in this era and something that would be repeated in the much larger (and thicker) “Super” issues of 1970 and 1971. Over the years, square-cornered examples identified as “proofs” have surfaced, both blank-backed and with printed backs, believed to have been cut from full, printed sheets by hobbyists. Presented here is one such example, a real beauty and one of the most important cards in the issue, featuring a rookie image of Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson. The PSA population reports indicate very few square- corners proof versions of any card from the set; a complete, graded set is not possible because examples of every card have not been graded and in many cases, the graded population is just one. In the case of Reggie Jackson there are four; this one a freshly-graded example submitted by us. All the proof cards are graded AUTHENTIC; this example presents as NM with sharp corners and a clean surface, a little wear along the left edge visible upon close inspection. An exceptional card, the rarest rookie card of Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson. MINIMUM BID: $1,500
499. 1969 Topps Super #41 Pete Rose - PSA GEM MINT 10 MINIMUM BID: $500
500. 1969 Topps Super #47 Tom Haller - PSA NM-MT 8 MINIMUM BID: $25
