“Quid enim prodest homini, si totum mundum lucretur et animae suae detrimentum patiatur? Ueniet enim filius hominis inbth gloria patris sui cum angelis suis et ibi reddet unicuque secundum opera eius.” “The 2nd Chapter of Fraternity Lodge No. 126 of the MWPHGLNY” BY: PM Dr. Franklin N. Caesar – Fraternity Lodge No. 126
In the first Chapter of Our Story, we told the story of how Fraternity Lodge No. 126 took twenty-seven months to earn its Prince Hall Charter. We persevered through the Covid-19 pandemic and received our Charter on June 3 rd , 2022. On one side our Challenge Coin (CC), we called our experience “A Journey Within A Journey.” We explained in an article entitled, “Twenty - Seven Months”! in The Prince Hall Sentinel, Vol.54, Issue No.3, September 2022 (pages 35-41), what we had to do when the world experienced a new phenomenon, a worldwide PANDEMIC.
We weathered the pandemic and begun our journey as a subordinate lodge of the MWPHGLNY. When we were Chartered on 06/03/22 by the MWGM Gregory Robeson Smith Jr., he had decided that our Charter would be signed by PGM Walter C. King Jr., because of our Journey from the Occasional Lodge, in January 20, 2020 to the point where we were able to demonstrate proficiency in opening and closing the Lodge in due form and being able to initiate a candidate to the first degree of Masonry, an Entered Apprentice. We numbered thirteen (13) Brothers when we received our Charter” WM Franklin N. Caesar, SW Joseph Waller, JW Gary Goodwin, Treasurer James Sheppard, Secretary Scot Dread, PM Carl Wright, PM Wesley Stevens, PM Roy LaShaw Johnson, PM Satonka Brown, Brother Harry Gomez, Brother Donald Salley, Brother Gregory Bynum, and Brother Paris Renaud. On the same day we received our Charter, we earned one new Brother. He became a MM at the Occasional Lodge held that same day, 06/03/22. His name is Brother Divine Apoh. So, going forward, Fraternity Lodge No. 126 numbered fourteen (14) Brothers. Now, it was incumbent on us to find our “niche” as a subordinate Chartered Lodge of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of NY. As the outgoing Worshipful Master, I wanted to make sure whatever “niche” we found was already part of our DNA as a Masonic Lodge. I reviewed the things that we had done when we were on the “other side” to see if there were any pieces that connected us with the work we had done with the work we wanted to do as a Chartered Prince Hall Lodge.
