P.H. Sentinel (May 2024)

The esteemed panel assembled for the workshop included NYS Assembly Member Al Taylor, Dr. Maurice O. Franklin, Public Policy Professor at California State University Northridge, and former New York City Council Member Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. The workshop was led by Dr. Basil Smikle Jr., a Distinguished Lecturer who serves as the Director of the Public Policy Program and the Roosevelt House Institute for Public Policy at Hunter College. Dr. Smikle is also a prominent voice on national networks such as MSNBC and CNN. The panel addressed issues such as the need for us as men to do a better job of talking to each other. Prince Hall Masonry is a paternity and a charity, and one of the organization's strengths is that we are there for each other. Fittingly, we are a veritable support group for the men in the organization. As Masons, we are men with a social conscience and charitable perspective who share common moral ideals and esoteric values. Therefore, we will continue to find ways to make this a better place for our families - with particular emphasis on our children, and our communities. Accordingly, I will continue to live the motto of our organization and simultaneously uphold the oath to serve the constituents of the 21 st Senate District and New York State as a whole to the best of my abilities.

Robert E. Cornegy, Jr,, NYS Assembly Member Al Taylor, Most Worshipful Grand Master, Gregory Robeson Smith Jr, State Senator Kevin Parker, Dr. Maurice O. Franklin and Dr. Basil Smikle Jr.
