Table Skirting 101 Skirting is an excellent way to dress up tables for banquets, receptions, meetings, and other special events. They come in a variety of pleats, including: Box Pleat – A double pleat, with the material folded under at each side. Harper Pleat – Wider, evenly spaced pleat, with the material folded under at each side. Shirred Pleat – A decorative gathering made by drawing up the material along two or more parallel lines of stitching.
