Missouri State Safety Inspector Brian Snodgrass: “I was a Safety Inspector on the Southern Illinois Safety Team under JR Heady for several years and enjoyed my time working with them. When the opportunity arose to become the Missouri State Safety Inspector, I thought that would be a good way to help my fellow street rodders and promote safety in Missouri. By pro- moting safety and encouraging participation in NSRA, it elevated my purpose in promoting street rod safety. All of us serving as NSRA Safety Inspectors realize we are a fellowship with a common bond. If you give it a try, you’ll meet and work with lots of great people and gain a sense of satisfaction promoting safety.” National Safety Director Roger Barnhill: “I was asked to step up to assume the role of National Safety Director when the previous Director retired. I did so to support the association in a broader capacity, overseeing and guiding the NSRA Safety Program. I value the opportunity to work alongside our Safety Teams and to support a cause that is both meaningful and important to me. My involve- ment has heightened my awareness of safety chal- lenges across the country that impact our industry. It has also driven me to continuously seek improve- ments that enhance safety within our hobby, while ensuring that critical information is effectively com- municated to our teams. NSRA’s Safety Program rep- resents fellowship, camaraderie and a shared plat-
form to promote and discuss the importance of vehicle safety. Volunteering does not require a sig- nificant time commitment, and it offers valuable opportunities to learn, build relationships, gain hands-on experience with vehicles, and contribute to keeping our hobby safe.” South Central Safety Division Ed Chopin: “In the early ‘70s I had gotten to know the Louisiana State Representative having attended a number of rod runs where I would bump into him. In 1976 he asked me to be his ‘Advisor’ for north Louisiana. I’ve always enjoyed the comradery and fellowship of working with other like-minded folks and since then I’ve become the South Central Division Director and I’m enjoying my time even more, thor- oughly enjoying representing the hobby which has given me so many pleasant memories. I’ve become more outgoing, speaking up more, being more open to ideas and friendlier.
