The 11th Annual Street Rod Reunion sponsored by the Jacksonville Street Rods & the 4th Annual Cruise Night put on by the Jacksonville Street Machines got together for a fun weekend in Jacksonville, IL. Highlight of the event was the Poker Run and seen here the crew is ready and eager for their first contestant.

In Dear Lady “Woman Beside the Man” met Joan Radtke. Joan reports she was always into street rodding even before meeting her husband Howard of 26 years. She bought her first car between the 11th and 12th grades, a ‘50 Mercury that she added goodies to like skirts, louvers in the hood, a cowboy knob and spotlight.
"A Few Minutes With…” told the story of Mike Stephens and his love affair with his ‘40 Ford bought by his father 40 years ago, given to him when he was 16, and now being rebuilt by him and his son Jerod.
Also in Street Sweeper, Pete Millar announced he was bringing back his own publication “Drag Cartoons” in its 49th edition, which had been out of circulation for over 30 years.

Michigan Hot Rod Assoc. their annual check of $1,000 to support the MHRA Rod Repair Shop, who had been helping rodders repair their street rods at NSRA events since 1972.
The Gear Grinders Hot Rod Assoc. of Pottsville, PA, won the Club Banner Contest at the Nationals East.
The Ramblin’ Rebels hosted their 24th Fun Run at the North Carolina Plantation Inn, the hit of the show was “Stop on a Dime.” Hang a ring from the bumper, place a dime in the middle of a big circle, see how close you put the ring to the dime. Seen here, Buzz Miller measures Buddy Mason’s attempt. In “Run Scene,” Shades of the Past 26th Hot Rod Roundup in Pigeon Forge, TN, with 3,000 registered participants. Don Fitzgerald of Roanoke, VA, won the specialty award for Coolest Drop Top with his ’52 Nash.
In “StreetScene Remembers,” the original “Neat to Know,” editor (for 31 years) the late Joe Mayall seen here with his wife of 47 years Lois, who penned the column “Dear Lady.” Also in Run Scene, the Ol’ Marais River Run & Back to the ‘60s Cruise Night in Ottawa, KS, presented by Over the Road Gang, Inc. witnessed another record breaking year with 1,500 pre-’73 cars and trucks.
In “Express Lane,” Cool-Flex, a leading supplier of fluid transfer hoses, expands with new owner Jim Wilkos as Cool-Flex Motorsports that will now include a new chassis and suspension division and Wintec Fabrication. Inspector, and Southwest Texas Safety Inspector Dennis Meyers.
