A s Springfield, Missouri, hosts many “250 Years of America” and “100 Years of Route 66” celebra- tions throughout 2026, the NSRA fell right in line hosting the 43rd Mid-America Street Rod Nationals. It came alive the morning of Friday, May 22, as the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds opened the gates to rumbling works of passion, love and talent gathered for three days of enthusiastic owners and spectators enjoying 30-year-and-older works of automobile art. Participants registered for the event at the Host Double Tree Hotel with the help of Lynn Adams, Sheri Vaughn, Sandy Kerr, Lollie Krogmeier and Melinda Johnson, along with Host Clubs, the Pharoahs Car Club and Bad Reputation Car Club. Bret Chrismer led interested cruisers through the countryside to check out the area. Just so happens Show Me Rod & Custom and Hot Shoe Hot Rods were along their route, so it turned into two shop tours. The Battlefield Mall was just a short bus ride away for others who dreamed of shopping. “Samson’s Design” was in the limelight as the “Spotlight Builder” for this year’s event along with Affordable Street Rods as “Spotlight Exhibitor.”
