M att Shottan out of Independence, ever since. Matt was a long-time participant in the 29 Below program with the pickup in silver with black fenders, he was a Safety guy for a while, and he was out making memories with his ever-growing family in it. Even though I wrote and shot those 29 Below posts and was around for the whole process, I never noticed Matt or his ’51 until his latest redo of the pickup that took it from mild to the ISCA picking it out from under me for their “Pick.” Hammered, Missouri, got his ’51 Ford F1 from his grand- father back in 1995 and has been rodding it
slammed, chopped, channeled, sliced and diced, everything a rodder dreams of and then does a sane version, but done all the way. Matt has been cruising on the chassis for over 30 years and at this point it’s mostly boxed, Z’d, C’d, and everything else to get the pickup low enough. The front suspension is a Mustang II IFS with rack and pin- ion steering, sitting on AirRide, and stopped with disc brakes. The rear suspension is a Ford 9-inch with lad- der bars riding on AirRide. The pickup has always
