Research is fundamentally important as a means of providing a better understanding of any disease and therefore improving understanding and management options. Neuroendocrine cancer receives very little funding for research. 46% of overall spend on cancer research is on the four most common cancers. 54% of overall spend on cancer research is on rare and less common cancers. However, this 54% is being split among 100+ rare and less common cancers. Source: Cancer52
