Founder’s Day
n The Junior School contribution to Founder’s Day ‘Lite’ involved pupils from both Year 4 and 5 showcasing their acting and musical talents. Historical Re-enactment club kicked off proceedings with an action-packed re- enactment of a famous battle from history – there was some astute battle tactics amidst the bludgeoning swords and flying spears! This was followed by individual poetry performances by those boys who recently took their LAMDA exams. Then, the whole of Year 4 took part in their annual Wind and Brass concert, which was a culmination of their hard work in their weekly lessons. Performing in ensemble groups, the boys demonstrated the skills they have acquired on numerous instruments (tuba, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, oboe, tenoroon). The much-anticipated Year 4 “Dulwich College Brass Ultimate Long Note Championship” featuring 3 brass students from each form wrapped up the Year 4 contribution. It was then over to Year 5, who provided some superb LAMDA monologue performances, followed by a sung piece, and then the String Ensemble performed ‘The Rocking Strings’ by Norman Ward.
