F rom a bohemian hangout in the 60s to an epicentre for the house scene in the 80s, followed by a rave mecca in the 90s, Ibiza has gone through several phases. Ibiza today is a more grown-up destination. The club culture still exists but the focus has shifted towards upscale beach clubs, a burgeoning healthy eating movement and small-scale fashion designers. It is an arrestingly beautiful island, dotted with farmhouses, almond trees and famous hippy markets in towns such as Sant Carles, Sant Joan and Sant Jordi. The interior is still relatively undeveloped, the hamlets of Santa Gertrudis and Sant Miquel remain quaint, and the pine-fringed north coast is rough and ragged with still much to discover. Ibiza continues to be a secure property investment destination, particularly with regards to rentals during the summer months. Direct flights are on the increase, airport arrival numbers are continuing to rise year-on-year and the island is increasingly becoming a year-round destination.

Actualmente, es un destino más maduro. Sigue existiendo una amplia oferta de ocio nocturno, no obstante el interés se centra ahora en los exclusivos clubes de playa, una creciente oferta de gastronomía saludable y diseñadores de moda a pequeña escala. Es una isla fascinante y preciosa, salpicada de granjas, almendros y famosos mercados hippies en localidades como San Carlos, San Juan y Sant Jordi. El interior todavía conserva paisajes intactos. Los pueblos de Santa Gertrudis y San Miguel mantienen su toque pintoresco y en la costa del norte aún queda mucho por descubrir, con un paisaje accidentado y bordeada por pinos. Ibiza sigue siendo un destino de inversión segura, especialmente gracias al alto rendimiento de los alquileres durante los meses de verano. Los vuelos directos están aumentando y actualmente los hay a lo largo de todo el año. Las llegadas al aeropuerto también siguen creciendo año tras año, y la isla se está convirtiendo en un destino muy popular en cualquier época del año.
