(2) They should have kept the Word in the heart, as well as by the ark. (3) The Word in the heart (Psa. 37:31) is like chains on the tires. ' (4) First the Bible, then the revival. (5) Time neither rusts' nor dulls thè Sword of the Spirit, Heb. 4:l2. ( 6 ) Gold could never redeem (1 Peter 1:18, 19) ; nor heal, (Acts 3:6) ; nor satisfy, (Isa. 55:1), (7) Has the church slighted the Bible? ( 8 ) “I believe the Bible because it finds me?’ (9) Has your Bible found you?

vs. 1-3. “And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebu­ chadnezzar the king of Babylon came, he and all his host (army), against Jerusa­ lem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about. And (So) the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah. And (omit , And) on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed (was

sore) in the city, and (so that) there was no bread fo r the people of the land." There are five accounts in the Bible of the siege and fall of Jerusalem (cf, Jer. 39; 52; Lam. 4; 2 Chron. 36:17-21). T.fie siege lasted a year and six months lacking a day. The condition of the -people within the city as the siege drew near its close was pitiable in the extreme (Lam. 4:4-10).
