C rane Communications Ltd was entrusted with supplying a comprehensive range of cutting- edge communication and safety systems for the refurbishment and redevelopment of Templemore Baths in Belfast. Crane Communications Ltd provided a diverse range of solutions to fulfil the project requirements such as: fire alarm system, including aspirating smoke detection technology; intruder detection system; IP surveillance systems (CCTV); disabled refuge and toilet alarms; distress pool and gym alarm; AFILS (audio frequency induction loop systems); access control system; ICT DATA – fibre and data infrastructure. All of these products were carefully
of compliance. One of the biggest challenges in the project involved the installation of an aspirating detection system above the main pool and changing facilities. This system was specifically designed to address the unique environmental conditions present in the area, which included harsh chemicals that could potentially affect the plastic pipework and connectors. To overcome this challenge, Crane Communications Ltd employed flexible connectors and concealed the pipework within the building structure, wherever possible, to provide enhanced UV protection. Commenting on the completed project, Ken Burns, Director, said, “Despite the complexity and extensive scope of work involved, the delivery team demonstrated their capability to handle
all the disciplines required for the project. This included successfully managing a long timeline, as it was a heritage project, while remaining focused and consistently meeting target handover dates. “We are thrilled to witness the restoration of Templemore Swimming Pool to its former glory.
