EIC PROMOTES AWARENESS AND PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF PEOPLE IN THE ENERGY AND ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES… Mental health help is one phone call away

A third of all work-related absence in the construction industry is due to anxiety and poor mental health – and did you know that two construction workers take their own life every single working day? In times of what it feels like a mental health issue pandemic, the assistance provided by the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) to support the emotional well-being of those in the industry is more crucial than ever. The EIC provides a wide variety of key services with focused support to meet every individual’s needs, such as general legal advice, psychiatric assessments, support for those suffering from a terminal illness, therapy, mental health, bereavement and dyslexia support. The charity also offers Clinical Occupational Therapist (OT) for support with returning to the workplace after

a serious mental health absence, CV support

following redundancy and job loss and even complex case management support with assigned case workers to help get professionals back on their feet. To find out more about eligibility and apply for any EIC services you can contact the charity through their free and confidential support helpline at 0800 652 1618 (UK only), open from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. Support is also available via email at support@electricalcharity.org The NI chapter of the EIC raised a whopping £6190 at the NI Electrical Awards in June. Thank you so much for your support!

GET CREATIVE AND ORGANISE A FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY FOR THE CHARITY AND HELP MEMBERS OF THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY WHO ARE FACING A DIFFICULT TIME…

IEBA calls out for fundraising events

T he Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA) promotes a number of events that have already become traditional in the fundraising calendar, such as the Annual IEBA Golf Day and the Winter Ball. However, work never stops for the charity, which acts as a network within the industry offering practical help and support to people in the electrical industry who are in need. The work undertaken by the IEBA is ongoing and growing every year, and the charity cannot survive without assistance from its members and trade partners. So why not get creative and organise a fundraising activity? IEBA is seeking help from companies to host their own fun-filled events. This can be anything from coffee mornings, cycling events, sponsored runs, triathlons, golf events, and more. In-house fundraising

is the perfect opportunity to get your colleagues together for a great team- building experience, all in aid of a fantastic cause. IEBA was founded in 2001 and has been active in helping many members of the electrical industry, and their families, who have experienced difficulties with bereavement, depression, terminal illness, accidental death, special treatments, or

training. The association continues to make a real difference in the lives of electrical industry employees and their families. And with your help, awareness and support the charity can do a lot more to assist those less fortunate.
