DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a prolific leader during the Civil Rights Movement, from December 1955 until April 4, 1968. Through his leadership he paved the way to achieve progress toward racial equality.

Dr. King advocated for nonviolence, drawing inspiration from his Christian faith and the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Even today, Dr. King is still widely regarded as a pre-eminent advocate of nonviolence and one of the greatest nonviolent leaders in history. In honor of Dr. King, we have highlighted a few community-based events and resources that help you learn more about this prolific leader beyond his inspiring "I Have a Dream" speech."
