How would you describe your character’s current position? - He is at a mature stage, but also in a state of constant vigilance. My character is no longer someone who reacts impulsively, but rath- er someone who thinks ahead and bears the consequences. He is trying to maintain balance in a world that’s constantly being rocked. That posi- tion isn’t prominent, but it is decisive. And it often requires that you re- main silent when everyone else is raising their voice. Your character often serves as the show’s moral compass. How demanding is that for an actor? - Very. Because moral authority doesn’t equat to perfection. He makes mistakes, has doubts, questions himself. But he chooses to do the right thing at crucial moments, even when he knows it will cost him. As an actor, it is important for me to portray that strength without pa- thos. The most difficult thing is to play calmness — because being calm must be believable. Grey’s Anatomy has endured for more than 20 years. Why is the audience still loyal to the show? - Because the series has never feared growth. Characters age, change, lose and gain. The audience has grown together with them. This show speaks about life as it is — complicated, painful, but full of hope. And it always comes back to the core question: how to remain human in a world that often doesn’t make doing so easy? I think that’s the reason people still watch. What’s it like working in an ensemble with so much history and emotional weight? - It’s a great privilege. There is deep respect for everyone who built this series before us, while you simultaneously feel a responsibility to maintain that same level of quality. What continues to inspire you personally when it comes to acting? - The ability to tell weighty stories. Characters who aren’t perfect, but are honest. Acting reminds me to listen to people and the world around me. As long as I have an opportunity to be part of stories that mean something to someone — I know that I’m doing the right thing.

This show has never feared growth

Kako biste opisali poziciju svog lika u ovom trenutku? – Veoma. Jer moralni autoritet ne znači sa- vršenstvo. On greši, sumnja, preispituje se. Zašto publika i dalje ostaje verna seriji? Šta vas lično i dalje inspiriše u glumi?
