A focus on “brain wealth”, not brain health

We’re all aware of brain-training apps and exercises, as well as the princi- ple that the brain is a muscle like any other. Staying mentally active in old age can be useful for staving off natu- ral decline and could even help to de- lay the onset of conditions like demen- tia. In 2026, however, you can expect to see a shift away from brain health to “brain wealth”. This new trend will see brain health as an ongoing and long- term investment, rather than some- thing to think about only as you get older. Alongside brain training exercis- es like sudoku, crosswords and other problem-solving puzzles, expect to see a rise in supplements and vitamins di- rected at improving and maintaining brain health earlier in life. These will be combined with a continued focus on overall wellbeing and mental health.

Fokus na „bogatstvo mozga“, a ne samo na zdravlje Svi smo upoznati sa aplikacijama i vežbama za treniranje mozga, kao i sa idejom da je mozak mišić koji, po- put ostalih, zahteva aktivnost. Men- talna aktivnost u starijem dobu mo- že pomoći u usporavanju prirodnog opadanja kognitivnih funkcija, pa čak i u odlaganju pojave stanja po- put demencije. Međutim, u 2026. godini očekuje se pomak sa pojma „zdravlje mozga“ ka konceptu „bo-

gatstva mozga“. Ovaj novi trend po- smatra zdravlje mozga kao kontinu- iranu i dugoročnu investiciju, a ne kao nešto čime se bavimo tek u po- znijim godinama. Pored vežbi poput sudokua, ukrštenih reči i drugih mi- saonih izazova, očekuje se i porast upotrebe suplemenata i vitamina na- menjenih unapređenju i očuvanju moždanih funkcija u ranijem život- nom dobu. Sve to biće praćeno stal- nim fokusom na opšte blagostanje i mentalno zdravlje.
