The winner of the GB & ROI Construction Award – Below £2.5m, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, was J Oliver Hearty & Sons for their diverse project which involved conservation and consolidation works to Grange Castle, a 15th century, ruined tower house in South Dublin, as well as the construction of 5 acres of public parkland around the castle. The refurbishment required specialist crafts from the lead contractor, and collaboration from all the disciplines with timeframes driven by the archaeological impact. For their work, J Oliver Hearty & Sons was described as a quiet ambassador for construction in Ireland and to use the words of one of the judges, they unequivocally ticked all the boxes. Woodvale Construction is the 2021 winner of the GB & ROI Construction Award – Above £2.5m, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, for their work on the NDFA Schools Bundle 5 project. The winning project won significant praise from the judges for the mutual trust which was established with the client and entire supply chain to complete the development of five school buildings to such an exceptional standard.
