God. Of course these wicked men were watching to see what Daniel would do, and when they saw him pray to God, they went to the king and told him. When the king heard this he was very sad, for he loved Daniel, and he tried to have the law changed, but that could not be done. Then Daniel was brought to the cage of angry, roaring lions and thrown in. The king went back to his beautiful palace, but could not sleep for thinking of Daniel. Early in the morn ing he got up and hurried to the den of

lions, and called to Daniel, and listened eagerly for the sound of Daniel’s voice to show he was yet alive. In a loud strong voice Daniel answered, “ My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me.” The king ordered his servants to take Daniel up out of the den of lions, and not a scratch was found on him be cause he trusted in his God. (Teach memory verse., and tell what happened to the wicked men thrown in to the same lions.) Closing Prayer.
