was for these poor people to be back in the home land, and having the regu lar worship, right out in the open air, and it gave them more faith, and cour age now that they could come together and hold services. A number of men began work on Mount Zion, where the new temple was -.to be built. Some of the men quarried the stones out of the ground, and others cut them into the shape wanted for the temple. They had to send away to another place to get the lumber they needed. Even though these people did not have' a great deal of money, yet we see how willing they were to spend it for a new temple. At last the great day came when the temple was finished, and the people all came together for the special services, which were Called the dedication of the temple. The priests blew their trumpets. The people sang and gave thanks unto God for His good ness and mercy in permitting them -to return to their land and rebuild the temple, for they were so happy to see the temple again standing on Mount Zion. It should make us glad when ever we see a church and people wor shipping God. We all have so much to be thankful for, and best of all, that we live in a land where we have been taught to love and serve Jesus, and in a land, where we can go to church. This is such a beautiful verse, and after I say it, I will ask you to repeat it. “ Enter into His gates with thanksgiv ing, and into His courts with praise.” Do you know, boys and girls, the hap piest people in the world are the ones

Joyfully Building God’s House. Ezra 3:10-13; 6:14-16. Memory Verse.— “ Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.” Psalm 100:4. Approach.—Now I have a picture in my hand, and if you can guess what it is the picture of, I will give you a pic ture to keep for your very own. Yes, that is right, it is BEGINNERS the picture of our AND PRIMARY church. (Of course Mabel L- Merrill if your class is very large you may not be able to do this unless you have a church calendar showing the church. With a small class, a small kodak pic ture answers the purpose.) Boys and girls, did you ever see a church being built? Today we have a story of a church being built. Did you know that you were helping to build a church by attending the services and listening carefully? Prayer. Lesson Story.—-We learned last week how some of the people had returned to what had been their old home in Jeru salem, and James, how did they find things there? (Let the children give the lesson, aiding their memory if neces sary.) Now today we see them hard at work, even though they did feel bad to see the old home town all in ruins. They knew it would take some time to rebuild the temple, so they cleared away the rubbish, and rebuilt the great altar of burnt offerings that had stood in the court or yard of the temple, and began the regular morning and evening sac rifices thereon. What a happy day it
