The next stop was the warehouse owned by Robbie Wolf from “American Pickers.” This stop was extremely well received because everyone is a fan of the show. (Editor’s Note: I’m a big fan and have watched every episode several times over and have not only learned so much history, but also the approximate worth of what’s survived.) Robbie’s collection of signs and memorabilia was extensive. One of the couples on the tour managed to buy a stuffed bear to be shipped home. Robbie was on hand to meet with us and answer any questions we had. This stop was enjoyed by everyone on the tour and the
Pontiac Club also gave Robbie a NSRA thank you plaque. Next, we went to the American Pickers location in LeClaire, Iowa. This is the site where Antique Archaeology and American Pickers were launched, and they too were given a thank you plaque. By now the group was shrinking because some headed out early to attend the Host Club’s weekly cruise in Davenport along the river every Wednesday evening. The cruise ended this year’s garage tours and everybody anticipated entering the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds for the 2nd Annual Quad Cities Street Rod Nationals.
