What's Happening in Development
Chanhassen is growing, with several new developments and redevelopment projects taking shape across the city. From housing proposals under review to major construction already underway, here’s a look at what’s planned and what’s in progress.

Minnewashta Apartments A 44-unit boutique apartment has been proposed for property located at 6440 Hazeltine Boulevard. The Planning Commission recently recommended approval of the project with final review of the proposal slated for the October 13 City Council meeting. If approved, construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2026. Avienda Apartments Avienda's next phase includes plans for a 412-unit apartment building. The development contract for the project is scheduled for City Council consideration on October 13. If approved, construction is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2025. Under Review When a project is listed as “under review,” it means the developer has submitted plans to the city, but construction cannot begin yet. City staff, commissions and the City Council are reviewing the proposal to make sure it follows zoning rules, fits with surrounding neighborhoods, addresses traffic and safety, and meets other community standards. Residents will have opportunities to provide comment during this stage.

Chanhassen.info/planning- commission The Planning Commission prepares and maintains the city's Comprehensive Plan and advises the City Council on implementing the plan. They meet the first and third Tuesdays of every month.
