Auditions - Summer 2025 Pre-Professional Shows Jamie Markovich McMahon & Joe Bishara

Participants attend one of six audition times to participate in The Abbey Theater’s Summer productions (Hadestown and A Real Boy). Participants have three minutes to audition and present two songs from each production and a contemporary monologue. Pre- professionals who only want to be considered for Evolution Theatre Company’s A Real Boy do not need to sing. More information about specific song selections is sent once audition registration is complete. Casting offers sent no later than March 14. A Real Boy performers must be available to rehearse Monday through Thursday from 6-9 p.m., June 2-June 25. Performers must be available for all performances June 26-29 and July 10-13. Hadestown performers must be available to rehearse Monday through Friday from 4-6:30 p.m., July 15-Aug. 7. Performers must be available for all performances Aug. 8-17. Learn audition tips and tricks to prepare you to audition for our

summer 2025 pre-professional productions (Hadestown and A Real Boy)! Participants receive coaching to prepare them to sing songs from the show, tips and tricks for staging for the songs, monologue coaching, and behind-the-scenes info about the audition process. Auditions are held March 1-2 from 1-5:30 p.m. (see Activity #193751). Develop your acting and singing skills while rehearsing to perform the selected show at the end of the week. Participants are required to attend camp Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to Noon and must be available for two performances on Friday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Winnie the Pooh KIDS – June 2-6: Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course... sharing snacks. Annie KIDS – June 9-13: With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
