FILL-A-CRUISER: DUBLIN POLICE ASKING FOR HOLIDAY GIFT DONATIONS The Dublin Police Department is hosting its sixth annual toy drive for kids who could use some extra cheer this holiday season. The drive is in partnership with the Get Behind the Badge initiative directed at helping families of first responders in need. 2024 Fill-A-Cruiser

Saturday, Dec. 14 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drop off unwrapped gifts to the Dublin Justice Center, 6565 Commerce Parkway To help all age groups, community members are asked to donate presents for children in two age categories: newborn-10 years and 11-17 years old. Gift cards are also accepted and can make enjoyable gifts for young adults. Additionally, Get Behind the Badge uses gift cards to purchase clothing and other items needed for winter.

FIND SAFETY, SECURITY AND SUPPORT WITH SAFE SPACE DUBLIN A Safe Space is a location in Dublin where people in a time of need can enter a

designated building and receive compassionate instructions from trained staff members, known as allies, about what steps they can take to receive support when their safety is in jeopardy.

All City buildings, including the Dublin Justice Center and all Washington Township Fire Department stations, operate as Safe Space Dublin locations. Other community locations include Syntero, the Crawford Hoying office building, Dublin Arts Council, Dublin Food Pantry and Dublin Methodist Hospital

Led by the Dublin Police Department, Safe Space Dublin is designed to promote havens of safety, security and support resources that anyone can use help. This program ensures there are community- based sanctuaries where people can feel comfortable to visit should they be in personal crisis or have experienced hate crimes, threats or intimidation. Dublin residents can ask Dublin Police officers to join their group meetings, such as homeowners and civic associations, to present theft prevention techniques and important public safety information.
