Statistics from the World Health Organization show that healthy life expectancy at birth globally has improved by 3.79 years, from 58.1 years in 2000 to 61.9 in 2021. Global health emphasizes the existence of the individual. There have been many theories and statistics to demonstrate the population-level trends. An article from the National Library of Medicine by Dr. Bob Brecher explained Kant’s fundamental theories. Thus, we manage to understand through Kant’s teachings to consider the person as a rational individual. From this theory, some controversial discussions began regarding patients’ rights. Basically, it is not about fulfilling the wishes of the patient, but about objectively understanding him as a person completely guided by reason. For the proper development of an adequate lifestyle, we must educate society not only in relation to the current reality, but also with preventive measures regarding health and better understanding of mental and social faculties. Another publication by the National Library of Medicine shows us the following statistic. In countries that are still developing financially, about 4% of GDP is spent on healthcare. However, the financial situation of people in such areas does not allow them to see medical resources as a priority. This has a severe impact on integrity when it comes to health. Countries where people benefit from more advantageous financial resources tend to focus more on preventing diseases than on treating them. Statistically speaking, this leads to a beneficial outcome and less suffering. The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (2016) describes equality as ”correspondence between a group of different objects, persons, processes or circumstances that have the same qualities in at least one respect, but not all respects, i.e., regarding one specific feature, with differences in other features”. This states that equality differs from identity. Regarding distributive justice in particular, the article indicates that equality has always been considered fundamental.
