institutions because of lower tuition costs and a wide range of academic programs. Founded in 1939, Helena College course options have expanded from what was mainly a training center for shipyards, aircraft factories and Air Force bases, to everything from medical assisting to mechanics. The college has evolved into a comprehensive institution and today it is showing the world it is not your grandma’s community college. It maintains two campuses, the Donaldson Campus and the Airport Campus. The main facility, the Donaldson Campus, is still conveniently located less than a mile from the state Capitol building. A strong set of core values and tuitions that are among the lowest in Montana demands that Helena College not be overlooked. In 2007 a $10 million expansion and renovation was resulted in 21% more space, a new library and a beautiful student-friendly campus. A sculpture by Helena artist, Richard Swanson, aptly named 'Soar', adorns the facility’s main entrance bringing to mind the feeling of spreading wings and achieving dreams. For those with busy schedules, it also offers flexible options including evening classes and three different types of online classes that range from strictly online to hybrid. It’s a great place for students who need the option to balance education with family or job commitments. To put it simply, Helena College is the perfect place for real people who are looking for a real education leading to a real job. And for those who still don’t quite know what they want to be when they grow up, it’s perfect for them too, because with more affordable tuition rates, a student could try out a variety of majors before declaring one. And with its four year partnership agreements, a student can begin the path to getting their bachelor's degree at Helena College, then continue on to schools like Carroll College, University of Montana, and more. The sky really is the limit. Courses offered at Helena College include subjects like education, information technology, manufacturing, psychology and human services, healthcare, math and science, transportation repair/operation, accounting, and law. The Continuing Education side of the college, headed by Mary Lannert, Director of Community Engagement and Workforce Development, provides fun and interesting courses for personal enrichment. The term ‘lifelong learners’ applies to
