California Health Education Framework Professional Learning for Educators The California Health Education Curriculum Framework Rollout was created to support educators in increasing their health education content knowledge and pedagogical skill development. The four professional learning sections will give administrators and leadership the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to implement and support effective health education in their schools and districts. The professional learning includes an overview of the California Health Education Content Standards and Framework; safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments; standards/skill- based instructional design process; as well as a closer look at the six health education content areas. Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Brief Intervention Training Brief Intervention is a short-term counseling intervention that consists of two to three sessions aimed at adolescents who use alcohol, tobacco and/or other drugs. This approach uses motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy and the stages of change model to meet the needs of adolescents and serves as an alternative to suspension. Audience: K-12 administrators, educators, counselors, support staff, school law enforcement, parents, community members, mental health, nutrition and physical education professionals. This session is coordinated by Orange County Office of Education TUPE Capacity Grant.
