Rooted in Community: Using the Community as Classroom to Deepen Engagement and Belonging This full-day training equips administrators, community school district coordinators, site coaches/liaisons, and teachers with the knowledge and tools to design and implement powerful Community-Based Learning (CBL) experiences. Grounded in the California Community Schools Framework, participants will explore how to leverage local assets, build authentic partnerships, and create learning opportunities that connect academic content to real-world community contexts. Through interactive activities, case studies, and collaborative planning, you’ll learn how CBL can deepen student engagement, strengthen belonging, and address community priorities. By the end of the day, you will walk away with an actionable plan, ready-to-use strategies, and resources to bring CBL to life in your own school or district.
