Work-Based Learning Student Events Students showcase their skills and competencies in an Industry-based competition, demonstrating their mastery of various technical and professional abilities. The events highlight their practical knowledge and dedication, as they tackle real-world challenges with expertise and innovation. Audience: K12 students Welding Competition Welding programs will compete in the inaugural SBCSS Welding Competition. Welders will be assessed on technical and safety criteria for a variety of industry-standard welds, judged by local industry experts. ServSafe Manager Certification Class The ServSafe Manager Certification Course equips food service professionals with the knowledge and skills to ensure food safety and compliance with industry standards. Participants will learn critical topics such as proper food handling, storage, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and risk mitigation to prevent foodborne illnesses. Designed for managers and supervisors, this course prepares individuals to lead safe food practices and provides the training needed to pass the nationally recognized ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification exam. Sweet Genius Culinary Competition

Students will compete for the honor of the best culinary baking team in the inaugural SBCSS Sweet Genius competition. Participants will prepare cupcakes, donuts, and desserts items under the evaluation of local industry judges. Teams will incorporate three secret ingredients into prepared plates as well as provide decorative presentation elements that reflect
