WINNERS OF THE WVSSAC ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS Middle School Award
The Deputy Board members of West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission met in October 2024 to select the winners for the 2024-25 Academic Achievement Awards. The West Virginia State Football Championship Committee. This statewide recognition program involves two types of awards to be given to schools and individuals. The member school award are based on the computer overall grade point averages for the Team Sport Award, the Individual Team Sport Award, and the Band Award. The individual award include: Male and Female Athlete, Male and Female Band Students, and Male and Female Community Service at both high school and middle school/ 9th grade levels. School Category Team Sport Award Bridgeport Middle School, Girls’ Soccer Individual Team Sport Award Shady Spring Middle School Boys Track Band Award Clay-Battelle Middle School Individual Category • MALE ATHLETE Kyle Malay , Shady Spring Middle School. Kyle is the son of Kevin and Kourtney Malay of Beaver, WV. • FEMALE ATHLETE Braylea Squires , Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. Braylea is the daughter of Adam and Becky Squires of Buckhannon, WV. • MALE BAND STUDENT Carson Gray , Shady Spring Middle School. Carson is the son of Corey and Carley Hunter of Daniels, WV.
• FEMALE BAND STUDENT Ryleigh Helmer , Shady Spring Mid- dle School. Ryleigh is the daughter of Bryan and Kristi Helmer of Cool Ridge, WV. • MALE COMMUNITY SERVICE Isaac Minigh , Robert L. Bland Middle School. Isaac is the son of Perry and Sharon Minigh of Jane Lew, WV. • FEMALE COMMUNITY SERVICE Katelyn Kerr , Bridgeport Middle School.
