The Honest Talk A COMMUNITY POWERED BY WOMEN’S VOICES
What kinds of stories can women expect to see on The Honest Talk? Catherine Our stories reflect the full spectrum of women’s lives — careers, money, health, politics, and the personal challenges we don’t always talk about openly. We spotlight women who are breaking barriers, but also those navigating everyday realities. Jennifer It’s about honest, unfiltered conversations. Whether that’s a CEO sharing how she built her company, a politician opening up about life in the public eye, or a woman talking candidly about loss, resilience, or starting over. Our goal is to make every reader and listener feel seen, inspired, and part of a larger community. Why is the mission behind The Honest Talk so important? Jennifer So often, women can feel like being vulnerable or honest about their struggles, both at home and at work, can be a sign of weakness, but we know it’s just the opposite. We want to ensure that women have the information they need to help them build better, healthier, happier lives. Catherine We show them that there are other women out there who have been there, done that, and come out stronger because of it. We want to create a space that shows women that failures and triumphs are all a part of life; but being honest and authentic about them is the biggest strength.
What impact do you hope The Honest Talk has? Jennifer We want to be known as a community builder for women, and to feature more diverse voices, more content, in more places. Catherine We hope The Honest Talk is a place where women find connection and support, and where coming together in conversation leads to real change.
Everywhere you look, women are being asked to carry more. Politically, socially, and economically, the pressures keep piling on — often at the expense of their health and wellbeing. It’s a story that plays out quietly in workplaces, households, and communities every day. The Honest Talk was created by Catherine Clark and Jennifer Stewart to break that silence. By giving women a platform to share their stories, the podcast and publication are creating a space where voices are amplified, struggles are validated, and conversations spark meaningful connections. How did The Honest Talk get started? Catherine In 2020, Jen and I had this idea: what if there was a space for women to have honest, empowering conversations — real talk about work, life, pressures, aspirations — not filtered or judged. We first planned a live event series, but when COVID hit, the project pivoted almost immediately into a podcast. Since then, we’ve grown into an online magazine and launched our events series. Jennifer We recognized how isolating professional life can feel, especially for women balancing many expectations. We heard women say, “Everyone else has it more together than I do,” and we wanted to dismantle that idea. It was about creating community, sharing stories of struggle and success in equal measure.
It’s about honest, unfiltered conversations.
