skills at scale isn’t just possible - it’s profoundly cost-effective.

scientific research, and local adaptation that turn empathy into lasting societal capacity. The invitation is clear: Help us ensure that anyone, anywhere, can access free, confidential support in their moment of need – and that millions more gain the skills to support themselves and others. When we empower people to care for one another, we don’t just prevent crises, we create the conditions for mental wealth, social wellbeing, and economic resilience locally and globally.

service that mirrors the Crisis Text Line model, operating across 20 countries in Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The fusion marked a leap from 5% to 12% of the global population now within reach of this proven model. Before joining Crisis Text Line, Aquí Estoy was powered by 450 trained volunteers supporting 14,000 conversations annually, with an incredible stigma-breaking social media presence. But it was limited by technology and resources, with demand far outpacing capacity. Over the next year, Crisis Text Line is working with Aquí Estoy to enhance technology, extend service to 24/7 coverage, expand to users under 18, and apply its research to deliver localized insights. This integration is more than expansion – it’s systems-level transformation. By combining Crisis Text Line’s technology, robust clinical research, and evidence- based training with Aquí Estoy’s local trust, community expertise, and powerful social media reach, the organization is creating a new standard for how digital mental health care can operate globally. A call to global leaders Crisis Text Line’s vision is bold but achievable: Within three years, bring this volunteer-powered, text-based model to at least a quarter of the world’s population. To do so requires partnership across governments, multilateral organizations, philanthropy, and private enterprise. It means investing not just in technology, but in people and systems: training,

Proven, adaptable, and scalable A key strength of the model is its adaptability. Beginning in 2018, Crisis Text Line collaborated with organizations in Canada (Kids Help Phone), Ireland (Text About It by spunout), and the UK (Shout by Mental Health Innovations) to adapt the model to their specific contexts, utilizing a common technology platform. Each organization is an innovative leader with deep expertise, delivering significant value within their mental health ecosystem. The overarching model has proven resilient during periods of acute need across these organizations and country contexts. Collectively, the four organizations have trained more than 120,000 volunteers, facilitated nearly 17 million conversations, and supported over 7.4 million people. When the pandemic hit, this distributed, volunteer-based infrastructure proved uniquely resilient, scaling rapidly to meet unprecedented demand. The successful adaptation of this model across different healthcare systems, populations, and languages in Canada, Ireland, the UK, and the U.S. validates its adaptability and resilience beyond a single context, and reaches 5% of the world’s population. Expanding geographic reach: Aquí Estoy joins Crisis Text Line In June 2025, Crisis Text Line acquired Aquí Estoy, a Spanish- language, text-based support

The message that keeps spreading John’s story began with a

single text, but its echoes have multiplied. Millions of people have since reached out, been met with compassion, and found strength they didn’t know they had. Thousands of volunteers have discovered that helping others also fortifies their own wellbeing. Each of those interactions strengthens the invisible web of connection that sustains societies. They remind us that brain health is a shared asset – one built conversation by conversation, message by message. Crisis Text Line is proving that with the right mix of clinical science, technology, and humanity, we can scale wellbeing globally. One of the most common questions from Crisis Text Line users is whether there is a real person on the other side of the conversation. The answer, always, is yes—and that human connection remains the most powerful tool for healing and resilience.
