Mental Health Research Canada (MHRC) is a unique and independent national charity committed to making mental health research truly count for Canadians. Established in 2018, MHRC evolved quickly from a 55-year- old provincial organization into an innovative national leader. Our work enables a future where mental health is improved using data, evidence and stakeholder engagement, and we know that digital solutions and AI play a pivotal role in system transformation. MHRC is uniquely agile, action-oriented, neutral, and highly collaborative. What does MHRC do? We track and report on the mental health of Canadians: our rapid analysis/reporting provides current insights to inform national and provincial policy and support the work of stakeholder groups. We transform research and data into products that are easy to consume such as interactive data hubs, info graphics, simple summaries in lay person language. With partners, we fund studentships via a unique model that connects

Funding Most of MHRC’s work is made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors. While our national population polling is supported through project- based federal government funding, everything else we do relies heavily on fundraising.
