Region 10 Program of Studies

ENGINEERING & ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The Engineering & Architectural Design program at Brunswick Landing is an innovative, hands-on learning experience that prepares students for careers in architecture, civil engineering, and advanced manufacturing. This program combines technical skills, problem-solving, and creative design thinking, giving students a strong foundation in engineering principles, structural integrity, and digital modeling. Students engage in real-world projects using industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Fusion 360, and other CAD tools, to create detailed architectural plans, 3D models, and engineering simulations. The curriculum emphasizes structural analysis, sustainable design, and blueprint reading, allowing students to develop critical thinking skills and gain practical experience in modern engineering and design processes. Located at Brunswick Landing, a growing hub for technology, innovation, and industry partnerships, the program offers students access to state-of-the-art facilities and industry professionals. Through partnerships with Bath Iron Works (BIW), Maine Maritime Academy, and Southern Maine Community College (SMCC), students have unique opportunities to participate in marine engineering simulations, advanced manufacturing projects, and industry- based design challenges. These connections provide mentorship, job shadowing experiences, and potential career pathways in engineering, naval architecture, and construction. Throughout the program, students take part in collaborative projects, digital prototyping, and sustainable urban planning exercises, gaining the technical skills and problem-solving abilities necessary for success in engineering and architectural fields. Whether students choose to enter the workforce after completing this program, pursue an associate degree at SMCC, or continue to a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture, they will graduate with a strong portfolio, hands-on experience, and industry-recognized skills that set them apart in a competitive job market.
