MBA core competencies When assessing applications to our MBA courses, we look for applicants to possess a number of core competencies, including: Strategic thinking The ability to think broadly and strategically, demonstrating sound commercial acumen. Problem solving and creativity Open to new ideas, experiences and learning opportunities. The applicant will show clear analytical thinking, getting to the heart of complex problems and identifying innovative and creative solutions. Drive for results Applicants will demonstrate strong focus on delivering a high-quality service or product. They will seek opportunities for self- development and career advancement whilst effectively managing pressure and coping well with setbacks. Personal impact Communicates and networks effectively and successfully persuades and influences others. They will relate to others in a confident and relaxed manner. Leadership Initiates action, gives direction and takes responsibility. They support others and show respect and positive regard, putting people first.
English language test minimum scores (2026 entry) The English language requirements for students are as follows: IELTS (Academic) 7.0 – all four languages elements have to be scored 6.0+, with maximum of two language components at lowest level 6.0 or 6.5 PTE Academic – 70 with 59+ in every section CAE – 190 overall; 2 x 170, 2 x 190 CPE – 190 overall; 2 x 170, 2 x 190 TOEFL 100 – minimum language components L21, R22, W21, S23 Trinity ISE III – Merit, Merit, Pass, Pass in four components Trinity ISE IV – Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass in four components Duolingo – band B: 130 (with at least 110 in two components and 130 in two components). A second-class honours degree at Undergraduate level from a UK university or the equivalent from an overseas university. We also welcome applications from candidates who do not have the academic qualifications but are exceptional, with a proven ability to achieve. Applicants must have at least three years’ postgraduate professional business experience. Generally a well-balanced GMAT score or a valid GRE score is required. Scores in line with the class average would be considered competitive. Our current class average score is 670 (10th Edition), or 615 (Focus Edition). The Warwick Test may be available as an alternative for certain candidates dependent upon circumstances.
