T HE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S HOME-GOING OF MBS' A. C. DIXON A cablegram was received from China, too late for notice in the October Issue, to the effect that Mrs. Dixon, be loved wife of Dr. A. C. Dixon, had passed away, quite suddenly, at Kuling, China, on August 7. Dr. and Mrs. Dixon left Los Angeles the latter part of June in response to an Invitation for Dr. Dixon to speak at the Summer Conferences which are held at various centers for the missionaries and native workers. Letters have since been received from Mr. J. H. Black- stone, in charge of the Conferences, giv ing details of Mrs. Dixon’s illness and death, from which it appears that both Dr. and Mrs. Dixon were stricken with illness at about the same time. Dr. Dixon recovered sufficiently to enable him to go on with his Conference ad dresses, but Mrs. Dixon grew rapidly worse, and her case was finally diag nosed as spinal menengitis. Mr. Black- stone says: “Mrs. D ixon passed away just a few minutes before twelve o’clock while Dr. Dixon was preaching in the church. W ord was sent over, but he did not know it until after the service and he bore up most bravely indeed.” And later, speaking of the funeral service, which was held at Kuling, a beautiful mountain resort, where the Conference was in progress: “ Both Dr. and Mrs. D ixon spoke so often of the lotus flower in China. They seemed to appreciate it more than anything else here; so we sent down the mountain to the footh ills and had some brought up, both for the service and also for the grave. It made the decorations very beautiful indeed. * * * Dr. Dixon him self spoke at some length, recalling some of the things about MrS. Dixon which, be cause of lack of personal acquaintance with her, no one else could do. He spoke with a good deal of feeling, yet was quite firm and courageous, and it all displayed his wonderful triumph and victory. “Mr. Marcus Cheng spoke a few words in English and also in Chinese. He brought out one or tw o interesting points, saying that, inasmuch as Dr. and Mrs. Dixon had come to serve these conferences fo r the

(1 Jno. 2 : 2 ) “And he Is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” Does it necessarily follow that all men will be saved if they do not defi nitely receive Christ? (Jn. 3:18, 36) “He .that believeth on him is not con demned; but he that believeth not is con demned already, because he hath not be lieved in the name of the only begotten Son of God. He that believeth on the Son hath ever lasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” How is it that the blood of Christ can avail for more than one man? (1 Pet. 1:19) “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Why is it that the blood of Christ is more precious than the blood of all who have ever lived? (2 Cor. 5:19; Jn. 1:18) “To wit, that God was in Christ, recon ciling the world unto himself, not imput ing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconcilia tion.” “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” Whose blood was really shed upon the cross? (Acts 20:28) “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” What, then, is the simple solution of the whole sin problem? (Tit. 3:4-7) “But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regenera tion, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
